Question probably paranoid but.....

I just got my truck and am majorly paranoid about every kink and tink that the engine makes. I just got the devil washed and before that it was running like a beast. But on the way home it felt a bit sluggish, so I gunned it a bit and it seemed sluggish. I watched the boost guage and it seemed to be dumping boost however it holds it untill I barely take my foot off the gas. As soon as I ease off the slightest bit all the boost dumps back to zero. It does this very quickly though, as in instantly back to zero from 8. I don't recall it doing it this quickly after I did the boost bypass so am I just being paranoid, or is something wrong with my beast? Only mods include unplugging the boost bypass solenoid.

It sounds like your finally getting used to the stock power.
I had the same feeling, so I added a pulley, chip, etc.

Its time to start modding!!

You were coming back from getting it washed---could the s/c belt/pulley have gotten soaked, causing belt slippage? I would think that it dry off pretty quickly, but......?

its very likely that it could have gotten wet, because the engine (don't know how) was wet looking when I opened the hood back home. That would explain the boost dumping?

wow i would never let someone else wash my car....they can help but they better be helping from afar (like adjusting the volume of the music, turning the hose on and off, getting me a bucket, making me a sandwich, words of encouragement..)

As soon as you're out of the throttle you should be reading a vacum on the gauge. You could try plugging the bypass solenoid back in, testdrive, then unplug and testdrive again to compare. Relax and enjoy.

I guess I'm just paranoid, I just don't remember the boost guage drop back to zero so quickly. It instantly falls back to nothing as soon as I ease out of acceleration. Even while I'm still accelerating, just not hard it does this. Normal?
And I only someone else wash the devil because I got free washes for 30 days from the dealer, thought I just use them and keep the devil clean! And I was there at all times.
