Angry Foggy Tail light!

Walked around the back of my truck today when rotating the tires, to find... A FOGGY TAIL LIGHT!

I'm going to the dealership tomorrow, and they'd better replace it...

Has anyone had a problem with this?

you know my dealer wouldn't fix my fog lights ever on my truck. I've had a broken fog lamp for the past year and I'm not going to fix it cause I never use the damn things anymore anyway. you get tired of constatly fixing them.

Post that'd be me...

I've got a fogged tail light too. The solution was quoted to me as remove light, let dry, duct tape holes that allow all the water in, reassemble.

I confess, I haven't fixed it yet, been a bit busy...

My right one was 'foggy'. I took a Unibit and drilled a small hole at the rear and another one on the front-side. No more condensation.

Krix: I'm 'computer illiterate' so I can't post a pic---and I got a dig. cam a few months ago--just pitiful .

The hole in the back is about 1" up from the bottom edge and the hole is facing straight back. The hole on the side is about 1" above the bottom edge in the lower, front rounded edge. I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference just where the holes go. I just wanted air to be able to flow through the lamp assembly.

Both my rear tail lights had condensation in them. The drivers side was worse. Just didn't have time to get it to the dealer for replacements. Sunday I popped out both lights and did the duct tape thing. I really didn't think the tape was going to fix anything. Since then I have driven in heavy rain 3 days and my tail lights are crystal clear.

Bruce, we were on our way to an appointment with a realtor down the shore, so we stopped in at Oasis, and they put the new ones in, in like 15mins.. perfect so far!

The problem seems to be the mounting screws. When the tail light assembly was installed, if the mounting screw was over-tightened it cracks the plastic and allows water to enter at that point (directly behind the red lens). The water then condenses on the clear cover lens. New ones will do the same thing unless you point this out to the mechanic.
Any Ford dealer can service SVT vehicles, but I would certainly use an SVT certified dealer to do engine/drivetrain work.
