Garage Heater Question

i looking at one of the two heaters below, but dont have any personal experiance with either, any comments or suggestions for either, its for a 2 1/2 car garage. i was first looking at the torpedo style for the built in fan but my dad had one years ago, in the garge, and it was loud as hell, have they gotten any better.

The woodland one looks like the one we use in our garage. Our's isn't loud at all. We even took it to Stanton w/us for the MiLoc race. We set it up in our trailer for the dog, although it was so cold we all ended up sitting around in there for a while waiting for the rain to stop.

Have you considered one of those infared heaters that mount to a propane tank? I have a single element that I use in my garage and that thing kicks a$$!

I have a propane 80,000 BTU heater in the garage. It works great with little smell. It does seem like I go through a $9 tank pretty quick though.

I second the woodland one. It looks just like one my family had years ago. The thing would heat up the basement pretty darn good. I loved it. But one day my grandfather just threw it out, something about how they were either illegal or not recommended by the state of NJ Not sure what it was since we can't get a straight answer out of him.

But if you want to save yourself some money drive the truck around for a while, when the engine gets hot pop the hood in the garage, it will heat up everything

If your garage is insulated, the best option is a through the wall 220 volt AC/Heating unit. That is what I have now.

If it is not insulated the 25000 BTU kerosene heater works well and is not too expensive to operate. Still have one on the patio.

The propane options use up the tanks pretty quickly. I was refilling the tank every week.

I recently hung a Reznor from my rafters. Its an old shop heater from my father-in-laws old dealership. It is a 200,000 BTU unit that heats my garage in about 90 seconds, it is awesome.

If you have a forced hot water boiler you can run another zone out to the garage, I keep mine at about 58 degrees all the time and when I'm going to be out there doing any work I turn it up to 65 degrees. It keeps my garage plenty warm..

Yeah, she has had some action, I got it last year at the beginning of winter and the snow banks took there toll on it. John893 built it for me and he did her up pretty stout, all it wants to do is spin the tires, it is a lot of fun, but on a narrow road she tends to get away from you, then the barrel rolls start, you would be surprised hor far she goes when flipping..... lol
