What to buy??? 03 Lightning or 03 Lexus IS 300

I will start this by saying I'm a die hard Ford fan and that I've wanted a Lightning for a long time now. I was going to buy an 02 but then switched jobs so I'm waiting till March before I buy anything. With the job I have now I get to drive many new cars and I really like the Lexus IS 300. The interior on the IS 300 is nicer than the Lightning and it rides better and the car is more practical.

That being said... I'm not about being practical but the car is nice. I'm leaning about 90% towards the Lightning but what are your opinions between the two? I posted the same on the Lexus forum and 75% of them said to get the Lightning. I'm basically looking for back-up on reasons to buy the Lightning over the IS 300 cause the chick is pretty P/Oed about the Lightning. So help me out.

Thanks,
Pete

Buy the Lighning! I like them so much I've had two. I used to trade cars once a year, but now I have found pure satisfaction!

Sorry, but I was in the same situation in February. I love the Lightning, and wouldn't give it up now... But I think I would have been happier with the IS.

There are only 2 things the Lightning has on the IS - Speed and hauling capacity. The IS takes the rest, hands down.

IS looks too 'boy ricer racer' for me. The L's looks are off the hook.

I have a 99L and a 99 GS400. Both are awesume vehicles. I have a 03 L on order. I have a two car garage. Guess which is going? The Lexus. The L has personality, the Lexus does not. Get the L.

i almost got an IS300 before i got the HD. i'm sooo glad i walked into the dealership to get new brakes on my contour before i went in to get an is300, cuz the contour stayed at the ford dealer, and the 00 HD sitting on the showroom floor came home with me I haven't had a regret yet, so i vote for the L

Funny, I was in the EXACT situation 2 years ago. I could not decide between buying the 2001 Solar Yellow IS300 or a 2001 Silver L. Unfortunately my wife insisted that we get the Lexus, but promised I could have my truck one day.

Financial reasons caused me to sell the Lexus after a year, but I have since gotten my truck like promised. I must say that the truck is far superior in most aspects and capabilites, and I have been generally happier with it.

The IS300 is a blast to drive due to it's structural strength. The motor is super smooth, and it is just all round top quality for the price. I did not have the pleasure of the manual version, so the automatic wasn't as fun.

To any who knock the looks of the car, you obviously haven't seen them sitting on 19's. Besides, where the heck do you think our ricey tailights originated.

I think that sums it up right there. Trust me, you will never be more happy than the day you drive home the L. A buddy of mine has an IS300 and it is nice, but not fast. Though I do like his heated seats. Anyway once you start modding the truck and feel how hard it pulls with a chip/pulley/filter, you will never think twice about your decision. TRUST ME!

If your looking for performance, get the L. If you are looking for a head turner, get the L. At least around here, I get way more comments about the L than he does on the IS, but then again, they are a dime a dozen in the Washington DC area.
