Angry BAN UPS!!!!!!!! They screwed me again

For the last time UPS has screwed my company over and me over. I will never us UPS again to ship anything and I will make it my personal goal to make there buisness fail all over.

You take insurance out on a package in case it gets damaged, and they come with the response that it wasn't packed properly. Even though my package had so much materials around it I could have dropped it from 5 feet in the air and it would have been ok. But they arn't going to cover anything even though they screwed it up.

So I'm out 500 bucks now because they destroyed my package.

As a warning to everyone just stay away from UPS. And try and pass this around to eveyone and every sight.

UPS screwed me and there going to screw you too!

sorry to hear that, I've personally never had a problem. But then again I rarely use them. I prefer FedEx, and it sounds like from this point on you do too

Whats your company?

I prefer FedEx. It could have something to do with the fact that I worked at UPS for several years and understand that the management only cares about the number of packages that are shipped not in how they are shipped.

Been there, done that many times. One time I sent out a Nitrous System (Yes, NOS) COD. After 3 months and 20 phone calls, I finally got a check from UPS. A few months later I got a letter from their lawyer and a collections agency chasing me down because I didn't pay a COD. I WAS THE SHIPPER!

Ahhh the 4 B's

Bitten By Big Brown....

Let me tell you, I used to deal with those Ya hoo's all the time and the best way to do it is just start emailing and sending letters to the CEO, and CFO...after a while they will pay you off to make you go away....the squeaky wheel gets the goods...

In most cases there is nothing you can do. You just have to be a pain in the arsh and keep hounding them about it.

If it was packed in peanuts they'll tell you that that is not proper packing material. If it was a re-used box, they'll say it has to be shipped in a new box. I am just speaking from past experiences.

Just keep being a pain and get the district manager to come out to your place and inspect it, talk to him/her and be nice, but still be a pain in the arsh.

that is total Bull**it

RT,

if you took out ins., ask for a copy of the contract - something in writing from them about what they will and will not cover. Also, ask for a written description of how a package has to be "properly" packed. If they insure it, they have to cover it. If they deny coverage, they have to DEFINE what is/is not acceptable. Keep going to the local facility and keep talking to them.

I'll ask some UPS managers I know if they have any ideas...

RT,
i had the same problem once with UPS and all i said was that they accepted the package the way it was. it is their responsibility to check the package to see if it is "properly packed"
so far every time i say that and talk with the manager back and forth they eventually send me a check. you have to have a logical excuse for any reasonning they give you.

one thing thought, the stuff i send are mostly computer equip.
it could be only regarding computer stuff they have to check packages if it is not the mfr's original package.

I ship many packages everyday using UPS. Now granted, most of my shipments are prepaid and charge, so I charge my customers for the insurance, but I don't pay UPS the insurance.

All the insurance payments I receive more than cover the claims I would need to make against UPS. Nothing is ever packaged properly in their eyes.

Pretty smart fellar, ain't I?!?

UPS and FedEx. . . six of one, half dozen of the other.

I've personally not had problems with UPS, ever. . . but have had FedEx lose or damage my packages approximately 1/4 of the time I ship with them. It's all just a roll of the dice with shipping companies anymore.

ups

my father bought a rare guitar from a guy down in pennsylvania some years ago. The guys shipped it UPS, packaged to the roof, fragile, and fragile, musical instrument stickers all over it..... No packaging could have save this.......they drove the god damn forktruck fork right through it and destroyed it!!!! Wouldn't you know it , they tried to make every excuse in the world and didn't want to own up to it. They finally paid the guy who shipped it who ended up working a deal with my father on it. He had to send it to some specialty shop to have it repaired, cost big bucks. Never sounded or looked 100 percent but he ended up making out on the deal. There was only like 150 of these handmade by some bigwig or something.
