Talking Need your guys opinion............

What would you say is a good price for a stock 2001 with low miles (under 10K). My buddy wants to buy one and I don't want him to get raked over the coals.

FYI--The one he is looking to buy is from a private seller (not a dealership).

Thanks peeps

Many people have been asking this question. I reviewing the other boards and seeing the responses it would seem like $26,500 - $28,000 is acceptable.

It depends on what part of the country. Here in NJ people are trying to get between 27 and 32K for an '01. I got my 01 in May but I had to go to Maryland to get it (at a dealer). I paid 21, 200 for it with 21K miles. I just picked one up with a friend in Florida for 26K. It was an '01 with 8900 miles and worth it to fly there and drive it back in the same day.

I think mid 20's is fair depending on mileage.

no more than $26,000... and it would have to be one heck of a clean truck, and well cared for.

Just looked on the web (NADA site) and they claim $27.400 average retail on that unit.

Hi Joe, hows it going?
Kelly blue book value is estimating a 2001 Lightning in excellent condition, in the Michigan area, when being sold by a private party, at $29,130.00

7900 miles is low and it looks like it has chrome wheels. May be worth it.

If I have read this right, the truck in question is in better than excellent (sp?) condition! It has been very well taken care of in a secluded dry cave to avoid over exposure to uv rays. It always wore the appropriate amount of sunblock (wax) also.
Am I thinking of the right truck, Soap?

Any chance of obtaining the Jager intake off your rig?

i would agree with the $26,000, and i wouldn't pay more, KBB says $29000??? and everyone else is saying that they are going for $28000? what the hell, a brand new one cost $32000, and if you get a-plan that busts it down to like $28500 (i think that was it) so you can get the same deal on a new one, Plus you get that awesome Interest Rate on Financing.
