16x7 rim with E/T Streets

16x7 rim with E/T Streets
Could i use a 16x7 wheel to put E/T Streets on? I wanna bring my truck to the track with some e/t streets but i dont have enough money to buy wheels and tires so i wanna use my bros stock wheels. They recommend a 16x10 but my bro used a 16x7 on his mustang that ran 11.4 ..... What would happend if i was to do this? will it work?
