i was at buddys house tonight and we were doing some racing and they all had there formulas and ss's over there. by the way there all new ls1s. anyways i went to run the formula and we went from a 25 kick and i spun really bad all the way through 1st then hooked and we run to about 100. when i let off i smelt something burning like a rubberey smell. got back to his house and popped the hood and it was smoking around the motor then it just stopped. so i shut the hood and started to walk off and notice smoke come from in between the cab and bed but it just went away and i drove it down the road and got on it hard and came back and no smoke. do u think the belt could have slipped real bad when got traction or what is everyones opinion.

 

If you run a breather cap, its mostly the thing smoking. Ive seen it in mustang a lot. Turning the motor over or shutting it down, puffs of oil smoke come out through the breather.

You will know if your belt is slipping by noticing rubber dust around the inside top pulley lip and on top of the upper plenum.
