I see rich's point, but we were all newbies at one time.

I am sure I asked a few stupid questions when I was a newbie.

Lets all chill, when a newbie asks a question that has beeen asked a million times, tell them to use the search funtion, but be polite. After all they wil prob be your friend real soon.

Bottom line, it's all in how we phrase our questions & comments that people judge us. Some people just come across all wrong.
That sums it all up. I don't think most people here care that much about post counts or thinks that is what makes a person knowledgable. There is no correlation between post counts and knowledge. This is my 3000 post () and the only thing I'm an expert on is getting in the doghouse.

Don you are correct on the "we where all newbies and asked dumb questions at 1 point", some of us still do (like me). But IMO that is not the answer. We have reached a point where we have discussed alot of things to death, brought them back to life only to kill them a few more times.

Is it to hard to ask or expect that people search for something first??? If they have a question about something already discussed why not bring the thread back up? That will do 2 things, keep the info more collected together so those of us who use the search don't have go through pages of threads and it will help save on space and bandwidth.

If a newbie searches for something already discussed, the search will most likely turn up an answer much quicker then someone will reply. Then we will have no re-posts on why they're being ignored.

The search is wonderfull feature. The VW board I go to cancelled the search function since it slows the board down and let me say it is a living nightmare to find something.
