Cheap adjustment for Truck-Traks
Cheap adjustment for Truck-Traks
Love my set of Truck-Traks, but the stock setting on them is somewhere around 1" air gap between the snubber and the leaf spring end. Too dang cheap to buy a spacer set.
Solution? Wander through Auto Zone, noticed their section of "Help!" small repair parts (seen them in Discount Auto too, rack of red backed blister packed parts). I see part number 31052, a Chrysler control arm bumpstop. Looks like a taller version of the TT bump stop. Buy two (cheap at $3.49 each), take em home. Same stud on the base as the TT stop, same thread size, 1/2" taller rubber upper.
So now I can run the TTs with either a 1/2" gap for the track, or else take a minute or two to swap out to the original ones for a nice street air gap of 1".

Thanks for the info. That's a good tip, I'll have to try it.
My Truck Traks were installed on my truck when I bought them and have the 1" gap. The guy said he put different nuts on them so they could be adjusted easily. I've never figured out what he meant. Haven't been too concern about it though, I get 1.6x 60 foots consistently with ET streets. Always room for improvement though I guess.
