K&N and Fuel Mileage???
K&N and Fuel Mimlage???
OK Guys, I put a K&N panel filter in my girlfriends Xterra. She thinks it is now getting 30 miles less on a tank of gas. WTF? It SHOULD get better milage, right? It is definatly peppier. I double checked to make sure I didn't knock off a vac line. Could this really give her worse milage? She drives 100+ miles a day (I know, dumb choice of vehicles for it, but...) so she needs it running good. What do you think????

Also, it's winter time. Oxygenated gas is out there now, and that KILLS gas mileage.
How can she gauge she's losing 30 miles to a tank? She should check her mpg over several FULL tanks. She'll have to fill it up to the brim, note the exact number of gals., and the number of miles travelled to be sure.
