Well this is a mustang question not a Lightning question, sorry?
Anyway I've being trying to post on all the mustang sites with no luck and I know you guys know your stuff so my question is what size of maf sensor does a 93 cobra have and can it be used on a 89 gt?
Thanks for any help.

The 93 Cobras had a 65mm MAF on them. You can not use them on any other mustang becuase Ford programed them differently. Let me explain. The 93 Cobra came with 24lb injectors. The stock mustangs came with 19lb injectors. To keep from having to completely reprogram their computer software in the EEC-IV system they programed the electronics of the MAF to read its data and lie to the computer as if it were calibrated for 19lb injectors. Thats why when you see a "Cobra" 24lb injector upgrade in the FMS catalogue it comes as a kit with the computer, 70mm MAF, & 24lb injectors. When I didn't know this I ordered a Vortech MAF calibrated for 24lb injectors. It ran like crap becuase it is was not the correct part. I actually am running a 92 GT 5-speed computer in my Cobra now. Not only for this reason but a few others having to do with the Cobra computer programing. I hope this helps. Your best bet to gain more performance with a MAF is to maybe port and polish it. Thats the only free mod you can do to it. Beyond that I would suggest you look at a Pro-M or a C&L piece. Both are expensive, but C&L actually has a kit with a tube to connect it to the TB that is supposed to be pretty good for air flow. Power gains with a MAF are going to be minimal on a unmodified to mildly modified 5.0 anyway, but then again every little bit helps. If you have done some siginificant mods to the engine then I suggest one of the MAF companies I mentioned.
Later.
Later.
