Get out you telephone book and start calling apolsterers until you find one that will do it.
You will have to have the new frame already,So they know where to make the cut.

Do a search. There is a ton of info out there.

in NW indiana 90% of the people don't even know what a lightning is in the first place. no one around here will be doing this job.

there's plenty of people to do that work in the area.

No.
The seat is not built that way.Besides the controls are on the wrong side and that would cost about 3x as much anyway.A cut seat is only $200-$300.A new powered seat from Big Blue =$Mucho dinero.

I heard it was possible to get a grey Expy seat bottom and transfer the top of the seat from the L onto it. I don't recall who told me it was possible but I heard it on here.

It's on the to-do list, but I just don't have the free time to pursue it

If possible to do that then you would have to have the new smaller brackets and will the bottom match the top.If not then you have to buy covers.
It is NOT a BIG deal to have the seat cut.It took my apolsterer about 3 hours from start to finish. The console bolts out and then he cuts the foam to match the new frame and sews it back up.This is what these guys do for a living.
And if you do not like it or are worrying about cutting up your truck ,I GUARANTEE you that an L owner would trade his passenger seat for the cut seat and console and you would be back to stock appearance.
