Talking I love the smell of brakes and rubber in the morning...

The HDPE even at went fantastic.

This was a really nice park, if you havn't been there, go. I'll have pictures soon, I didn't take any myself, but others got a few of me.

The morning was rainy, so the track was wet, and thus the street tires stayed on. The truck handled fantastic, even on the wet course (within reason of course). Had about 30 laps total of the loop over the course of the day, still need to work on some of my apex's...

Once again, I must reiterate, big brakes rule. The advantage of being able to late break lets you chomp down on peoples leads. The Pirelli's held fantastic all day, scrubbed off speed on the double apex without kicking out the rear or understeer... The NEO brake bluid was fantastic...its still clear...no boiling...

Until the pics, here's some quotes from the day:

From spectators:
"You are the best sounding vehicle on the track today"
(woohoo, liked me better then the ViperGTS)
"I saw Mike, then I heard: rrrrrwwwwweeeeeeRRRRRROOOOAAAARRRRRR and saw you! Awesome!"
"I love your truck, I hate it, its great, I love it, I hate it, its awesome."
"Can I drive it? Please?"

From my fellow race pack:
"There is nothing more frightening then to look in your review mirror and see this HUGE BLACK BEHOMITH storming up your a$$"
"Man it is hard to keep you from passing me!"
"Man it is hard to pass you!"
"There is NO way that thing is stock, I couldn't get around you, tell me!"
"You scare the cr@p out of me on straights".

All in all, a most enjoyable day! I hit 127 on the long straight as a top speed during the day... the rest of the track was between 60-100...

I was beside myself on how many people just LOVED listening to be "flyby" on the long straight! It was awesome... they'd hear the supercharger first and it would crossover into the roaring exhaust as I fly by.

Sounds like a great time. Look forward to the pics. You guys are starting to get me thinking of using this truck for more than a 11 second 1/4 mile blast..... and driving about 100 miles a day RT average to work every day.
These trucks rule!

Keep us posted,

Eric

Best thing about the road course is that you do probably 150 to 180 WOT throttle blasts in one day, which is more fun IMO, tha a few on a straight track without turning or braking required.

Good to hear about the fun you had! I was going to email you yesterday when you posted the weather outlook, but figured you wouldn't wuss out. There's another board that was discussing the possibility of rain, and a few weren't skipping it. I'll have to check and see if they mentioned the "truck." BTW, get used to the comments about "I can't believe it's a truck..." Fun, huh?

Within a year though, you'll have to get a faster truck...

George, have you run that thing yet? It should fly!

Is it a spec. truck or can you pretty much build the HP?

Since there isn't a specific class for the truck, I'm stuck in classes that don't have any restrictions. So I can do whatever I want, but I'm keeping the engine somewhat mild so it'll last. It's finished, but I'll have to wait until the Engine Builder gets back from Phoenix. Then, they'll be putting the engine on a dyno for the final tune, unless they have more motors to finish prior to the last Nascar race(s). I plan to be there to video tape the dyno session.

Excellent! What Pirreli's are you running? Can't wait to try my new brakes on a road course.

I'm running P-Zero System Asymetrico's as my "street tire"... 285/45R18... they've been doing really well, they have an excellent grip on them once they're warm and they drive great in water.
