Thanks for all the info. WOuld you think that I would be better off going with a two channel amp on the two subs in the thunderform box and letting the factory head unit power the factory speakers? If so what would I need to do this and how would I wire it so that this would be possible?
Thanks a lot

Either a two channel amp or get a new digital class D amp. I would rather see you get a digital class D amp cause they draw so much less power for the same amount of output as compared to the mosfet or other styles of amps out there used for multi channels.
When runnin subs its pretty much always going to be a mono setup. People don't really run stereo with there woofers for two reason.
#1 you get a wave thats not as accurate and its off when your using both left and right channels seperate.
#2 you can get more power from a amp running the Ohm load down to a mono application. Ohms are basically the resistance of the speakers. the more resistance the better a speaker is going to sound, for the most part anyway. But with subs you don't need that accurate of a bass response in your car so they lower the ohms to get maximum power from them.
With your two kicker subs your going to wire them up in series and get a 4ohm load. Thats the lowest you can get but thats ok cause you just have to find an amp that has maximum power at 4 ohms and I got one sitting in my garage for you right now.
Its a kicker DX700 class D digital amp with 700 watts at 4ohms. Its small enough to fit under the center seat or the passenger seat of pretty much anywhere. Its a very clean amp and it has a remote gain control on it and its like brand new. New I paid 750 bucks for it but I don't need it anymore and I'm deciding to sell it now for 400 bucks. Its going to go up on Ebay pretty soon if no one wants it, so let me know. I"ll ship it for free too.
this amp would be perfect for that setup of yours. I run my subs at 2ohms now so I can get 1500 watts for them so its now enough for me. When you see the amp it looks brand new. All the parts are included.

Believe me if I could swing $400 I would definitely buy it from you. But with the 03 on order I have to watch every penny until it gets here. I really appreciate all of your help with this stereo setup. People like you are why this forum is here. Good info from good people.
If I run across a spare $400 I will let you know. Just a little more than I wanted to put in an amp even though the kickers are great amps in my opinion.
Thanks
Casey
