Went to MIR today for the domestic vs. imports battles. Even though I have had my truck for about a year and a half I finally went to the track to see what it ran. It is a 2001 stock except for a K&N drop in filter. Never drag raced before so I didnt know what to expect. Anyways met some other Lightning guys there too. My first run was 14.066 at 99.49mph which I wasnt impressed with. Had to wait around for a couple of hours before they called my group but finally got back to the line and was a little more confident the second run. I raced some supercharged t-bird who was behind me the whole way down the track. When I drove past the booth to get my time slip the guy handing them out said looks like your gonna need a helmet for your next run. I was pretty damn excited I broke into the 13 seconds with a 13.8 at 100.77 mph. My reaction time was alot better at a .91 than the other run which was 1.335. I know there are guys out there runnin 11's and even 10 second 1/4 miles but damn if I didnt have the biggest ***** eating grin on my face after that second run.

I remember that time very well! I walked up to my buddy's(cablebandit) Trans Am and showed him my timeslip. He was back in line and had not seen my time. He grabs the slip, jumps out of his car, hold's the slip up in the air and shout's; "Hey, anybody lose their timeslip?"--with a big, briar's eatin' grin on his face--mine too !
