Unhappy Truck SHUTING OFF; help!

Total of 3 times in 4 days..

Driving easy, or pulling away from a traffic light easy, truck shuts down! At first it would spit and spudder then die.. Now on turnpike yesterday crusing at 80mph, truck shut off completely..

Electrical id guess, but what?? Calling JDM tomorrow, hopefully they can look her all over and find the gremlins..

*Checked chip.. all the duck tape is still holdin strong, no play..
* 12,500 miles on fuel filter.

Check to make sure your chip is not loose.

How many miles have you got on the current fuel filter?

Your chip may have a loose contact---NOT the chip itself is loose. I had that happen at the track one night.

12,500 is too many miles on these small fuel filters we have. It may be partially clogged but that should show up at WOT more than part-throttle???

If it's not all that forementioned..your fuel pump clamp came loose in the tank or it is completely shot..I'm betting on that because the same description you gave is exactly what happened to me a few months back

Good luck!

He has an 01 not a 99--don't think the 01's have that problem whereas, some of the 99s did/do.

Wouldn't a bad sensor or a fuel pump problem generate a code and a SES light? Loose chip sounds like a good possibility.

Your filter is a time bomb......

Here's what my fuel filter looked like with a little less than 6000 miles on it. I only used two BRAND NEW Amoco Stations to fill up since the day I bought it, NOT NO MORE THOUGH.
