Launch Tips

Can some of you expert guys who run in the 12's and below give me some advice on launchs and what you guys do before you take off. I need examples, like do you have it in a lower gear and then drop it into drive or what? I just need to know what is the best way to get a good launch. Thanks!

Set the F1's to about 28psi...I skip the water box... spin the tires a bit, just to clean them off. Keep in in (D) the whole time. At the last yellow, just mash the throttle. Seems to have worked pretty well for me. Low 1.8 60' times on F1s. Let the tranny do the rest.

don't mash on your f1's, you will do nothing but spin. Go half way and roll into it, that's what I've been told before.

ugh - tried that one night... Had the WORST E/T and 60'... it was like a 2.3 60'.

Ya know - it really ALL depends on your track conditions as well. Gateway here in St. Louis is pretty well prepped.

On the F-1's I start out with a launch of about 1000 or less and squeeze the throttle.
If the track takes it I'll mash the gas the next time. Try different rpms and different pedals. Write notes on the back of the slips. The data will be useful later on.
