Smile Evaluating new brake fluid...

I'm trying out a new brake fluid this weekend, it'll be put through the paces up at Lime Rock when I do my HPDE up there on Monday.

Its got numbers putting it close to the performance of Castrol SRF, but costs 1/3 of the price ($15 vs $60 per liter). The only thing I've been unable to dig up is how hygroscopic the Neo fluid is... from the others, SuperBlue is the best if you don't change your fluid often, being the least water absorbing. SRF is performance, but very hygroscopic and would need to be changed often.

Castrol still proves its the best with only a ~15% drop in DB wet, but it better for that price.

The specs (wet DegF/dry DegF):

Neo 610 : 421/610

Castrol SRF: 518/590
Motul 600: 421/585
AP-600: 410/572
ATE-SuperBlue: 392/536
Castrol LMA: 311/446
Ford HD: 290/550

Those are impressive numbers, esp for the price!

I used to open track my cobra monthly. I always changed the fluid and pads before each race regardless. Do you happen to have stainless steel brake lines on your L by any chance? Im looking for a pair.

Yeah, I change my fluid often too, thats why the price was attractive. lol.

My front Brembo kit came with stainless lines... Stan (Ruslow) over at NLOC sells a non-DOT stainless line kit, check out his vendor board there.

I got mine used from another Lightning owner for $2500... I think the going new price is around $3200-3500... There was another set in the classifieds a while back, dunno if its still there.

I am switching to the Super-Blue tomorrow. Finally adding my brake upgrade and a complete fluid flush.
