It's putting about 600 to the ground right now and over 500 ft pounds of torque to the pavement.
It's all on my website listed in my profile.

I don't mean to offend anyone here,
my membership to this forum is purely for the info.

Rob, I cracked up my truck recently too.

I am sorry for your loss, and realize how upsetting the experience can be.

My experience humbled me and I took it as a sign that I needed to come down to earth and stop driving with my ego.

In one of your posts you came across as being very erogant and so I chimed in.

I don't know you, and you don't know me.
Your situation might have been different.

I normally don't respond to these threads.
And I appologize if you were offended.

I hope your new ride serves you better than your last, and that you continue to enjoy your hobbie.

This is a point where many seem to lack the perspective that comes only with experiance. As sweet as your truck may have been, (I never seen it) the amount of time, effort and money that went into it is nowhere near as valuable as your life, your family and your friends.

This guy may have been a little rough with the 'god' comment but then this IS the Lightning forum right? I have read much worse here.

that must have cost a *****load to make a 4.6 put out those numbers. does that make you "better" than me because you have a faster car? well honestly i would have to say yes! however does that make you less arrogant or proud of your ride than me or Rob? definitely not.

My experience humbled me and I took it as a sign that I needed to come down to earth and stop driving with my ego.
spinning out a car (not the L or the vette) and losing my license for 6 months as a result did the same for me.

I started this way too, but once I saw all the great people who are on here that perspective changed rather quickly. This is all about sharing fun experiences, information, and like you said, ENJOYING YOUR HOBBY.

BTW one thing my dad taught me since i was little is that *all cars are nice* no diss intended to your car, i just got a little upset by some of your statements, Robs crash kindof struck a nerve with me. I have driven a stock 01 cobra and I thought that was bad a$$, i cant imagine 600 hp to the wheels.

SPEED SAFELY EVERYONE

You know all you people need to relax about who's truck is better and who's is faster and all that crap. Does any of it really matter??????

All that matters is what your truck, car, anything means to you!!!!!

We all know rob has spent more time then 99% of the people on this board improving his truck and making it without a doubt one of the nicest L's in the world!!!! he may not be the fastest, he may not be the coolest L either, but one thing is certain. He busted his a$$ to make it that way and even though rob has is his days that he pisses me off allot, he gets my respect for his accomplishments with his truck!

So everyone show some god damn respect to one of the kings of bling, and leave it at that. There's way to much bitching going on around here lately.

P.S. rob you still get me mad somtimes, but I am very sorry about your truck. I would be in shambles if that happened to me. If you every need any help don't hesitate to ask me.

yeah svtlightning02, we had a '66 convert with the L72 427, rated at 425 hp, Nassau blue on blue with tan top, side pipes k/o wheels p/b teak tele t/i 4-speed 4:11 posi what a screamer!! we sold that and now we have a '66 coupe that was in storage, original maroon on black 327 350 hp 4-speed car, repainted pearl white in the 70's, side pipes, '67 hood, built LT-1 and 4.56 gears installed. i put vintage American D-spokes with blackwall radials on it. they are really cool cars, the trick is not to go nuts with the resto or you'll get buried in $$$, especially without documentation.

Good news...Bad news.

The bad news.
An insurance adjuster came out today and totaled the truck. I also found out that on '93 and newer vehicles Illinois state law requires the insurance company to destroy the vehicle. No buybacks
I was also able to crack the hood open. It's not pretty in there. The upper intake put a very large dent in the firewall and bent up some intake bolts. It's coc*eyed on the blower. The once shiny passanger side cam cover is busted up as is the passanger side header. Basically, other than some billet caps and the throttle body there's not much I can salvage from the motor.

The good news.
Another adjuster will be visiting me in a day or two to go over my bling bling mods and the truck value estimates I got today look pretty darn good I even ordered some new parts for the '03 Lightning today. I think I might set a record for shortest lived stock truck.

Rob,
All I can say is what a waste, for someone to destroy all your hard work. I am sure it must be upsetting news, and I hope they take care of you on all the extras that you had done to it. It really is ashame to destroy all of those one off pieces that you made for it, If you get a chance take a thin scraper or something and try to get the JDM emblem off the tailgate because I would be proud to wear that badge, It would show my loyalty to JDM and at the same time make a great conversation piece. People would ask about the emblem and I would say that it is my tuner and then tell the story of how it came from the hOOtersmobile and I would always have a little of her to carry on.
Just a thought,
Bill
