Anyone done a bazooka subwoofer in there L?
Anyone done a bazooka subwoofer in there L?
Well I sold my old setup and I'm kindda thinking of just getting something fast and easy to pull out and that would make some good bass for me.
I know the bazooka's are pretty easy to install and there lightweight but how do they sound? I realize there not going to be near as loud as my 3 ID's where but I want my truck to go faster anyway, HAHAHAHAHA.
I'm thinking about doing two of the bazooka 10inch passive tubes at 4 ohms with my old 700 watt kicker digital amp. Face each of them into the cab walls and then when you go racing just pull them out real quick for a 50 pound drop in weight. they only weigh 26lbs each, as compared to my old setup which was about 100 pounds.

i have one 10 behind the drivers seat, sounds pretty good, exp. being hooked to the stock head unit, only prob is that the arm rest will not move to the opposite position without the pass seat being moved forward..

I have a powered 8" behind the seat and it sounds very good on the stock set up. I removed the rear storage bin, and the seats function just like normal. The only problem that I have is that I wired it up so that it is powered all the time... just enough to kill the battery in the truck if it sits for a day or two in this cold weather. I will be fixing that this week with a switch of some sort.
Yeah I'm going to go with two of these RS passive subs and hopefully that will give me enough fill to compensate for my bass needs. They say they handle 250 watts each so I'll put 250 to each one easy with power to spare.

Yea I have been wanting to get an 8inch powered Sub for my stock setup and put it behind my passenger seat but wasn't sure how it would sound mixed in with the stock speakers and head unit. If you guys are saying it is good then I may take out the storage bins and throw 1 back there. No loss of seat space???Now on to find the cheapest place to order.
What else will I need to conect it to the factory head unit? Thanks

I am no electrician, but here is what I did. I ran a power wire from the battery into the cab and behind the seat. I hooked in to each of the rear speakers, and that was it. No loss of seat space, and it sounds good with the factory front speakers. I have the fade set somewhat towards the front so that I can get more of the high's combined with all of the lows out of the sub. I hate midrange sound, so that is how I have the system set up.
not tryin to sound like a ricer but I would get the nos bottle looking bazooka sub. 300 watts r.m.s and it looks pretty damn good in my opinion. Ya ya, it may be ricey but to me it's pretty cool
check out the bazooka #CS8A5. 8" powered sub with 4 aditional outputs at 25w a piece. this may be the most inexspensive way to upgrade. i ordered one so i'll let you guys know how it sounds.

I have a single 10" (that didn't sound right) that I move from car to car. Even with a good amp I think it sounds like crap. You need to have the rest of the system back it up for it to sound good in my opinion. Just the bass tube by itself sucks. (With everything else factory) it seems like the bass tube drowns everting else out.
I wouldnt put a bazooka in my truck if you paid me. Considering a good 10 in a real box an external amp will ROMP a bazooka. If your wanting easy to remove do 1 10 or 1 12 take electrical tape with you and leave the amp in and take box out.
I got 4 10s in my truck and when i go racing i just uhhook the 4 10 boxm lift out, badabing, amps stay heavy boxes go.

thats what I used to do, but its a pain to do by yourself. Bazooka's arn't that loud at all. They got to be somewhat decent?
If not then I'm just going to make a box for two ten audiobahns and hope they are easy to take in and out even thought its not.

thats probably what I'm going to end up doing insted. no way to get easy bass I guess.
Well ive installed more bazookas that people have been uphappy with then happy with. People expect huge things out of them and its really not very clean or loud.
Try and check into some quality subwoofers before the audiobauns. Look at polk, jlaudio, mtx(6000 series or better)
If you want cheap bass, get the MTX thunder form, easy to install/remove. And you will be MUCH happier with it. I would suggest going with teh unamplified one though, its rediculous how small the amp is in the amped enclosures. SOmeday i'll get around to taking a picture of this pathetic thing.
