He is selling the rims and putting a different style on. He's local here in Neptune but he never drives the thing. It's a top quality paint job.

cyntaxx,

There IS a Mystic '99/'00 L in Oklahoma City. I've seen it and it looks GOOD! I almost ran off I-35 when I saw it...

I doubt they're on this board though...

Not my fave of the chameleon paints...but it does look really really good. I like the smoothed out tailgate. About time he puts a roll pan and some nice sidesteps on it.

Oh and good to hear he's ditching those gaudy ghetto rims. They would look more at home on an Escalade. Some nice simple spoke rims would do the job.

Never seen a Lightning painted like that, but I know a fella with a Monte Carlo with a similar paint job and Justin is right, the pics can't do it justice. In the sunlight, it is a Bling-Bling mobile

I saw this truck maybe 2-3 months ago in a shop on hwy 35 in Neptune. It looked just like that. I think it is the same truck. The rims dont look that good in person but the paint is nice. It is a good lookin truck. The only other thing i didnt like was that he painted the lightning badge that color. I think it would look better if he kept that chrome but to each his own. How much is that truck modded?? It is nice.

I did a mystic job on a '97 Mustang, when I worked at my father's body shop. Don't remember how much the paint itself cost, but the guy ended up with a final bill of about $9k. That was door jambs, engine compartment, everything. The engine was already out of the car, and the interior was 90% stripped. Got towed right from our shop to the stereo shop, and then back to the mechanic to have the built motor slapped back in....

THAT is money!

Just so you know, it would have probably been less, but my dad was pretty pissed at how long it took us to clean the car properly, because of the GALLONS of Armor-All this jerk used!

And, sorry, I don't think my dad would be up for THAT adventure again! (I'd be willing to consider it, though )

Otherwise, it came out pretty damned nice. The engine bay looked REALLY cool if you shined in a flashlight, because of all of the surfaces....
