Boost bypass

I don't know jack about these, but bought a kit anyway (basically I'm following the Jones' here). I don't run the truck too hard very often. I know I probably don't NEED it, but what are the pros and cons of having it.? Thanks.

It's all good, NO BAD

Basically, the stock setup will DUMP BOOST, and it will tend to do it right when you need it. The bypass will make sure you always have the boost when you need it.

The same results can be acheived by un-pluging the wire.

With any playing you will need it. Either unplug it or buy the kit.

Unplug it!!!!! Does exactly the same thing and you have an extra $20.00 bucks in your pocket. How can you loose?

I spent $3.50 at hope depot and made my own kit. That way there is nothing stored in the computer (for any warrenty concerns from the dealer)

any downsides to unplugging the wire? Is there a thrown code? Can it be cleared by myself in my garage?

Mine has been unplugged for 30,000+ miles with no SES light, problems, etc--none.

For the earlier question, no you won't have to do any changes when changing pulleys--no affect on the boost bypass mod.

I have had mine unplugged for about 5K miles now and no problems whatsoever. I fhink it does set a "soft code", but it does not set the MIL and the soft code can be reset by simply disconnecting the battery.

Cool

Ok, one more time for those who have trouble with reading comprehension.

Baddgene ALREADY has a boost bypass kit. He just wants to know if there are any negative side effects.

He could give a FAT RAT'S A$$ if you have your boost solenoid unplugged.
