The story goes like this;
Sitting in my home office and I hear, bang, bang, bang, motor rev up and a car turning the corner by my house, screeeeech. Wife says "was that gun shots?" It's about 9:30PM Halloween Night and the trick or treaters are of the older version, so I jump up and run out to see if anyone was hurt. Not a soul on the street anywhere? Run to corner, see a small set of tail lights about 1/2 mile away. Come home look all around, nothing to be seen. Next day while unloading frozen meat from my Meat Man I see this grey and black spot on my tailgate, I been shot! Looked for the other two, but to no evail. No other holes, marks, or chipped brick anywhere.
Called the police to report it a day after, and no reports of anyone shooting in the neighborhood, but they still think the shots were at kids not my truck
Anyway, like I said a Holloween Trick directed at my truck is how I see it. I will leave it there, clean it up, clearcoat over it and let it stand.

Where did the bullet end up after going through your tail gate, did it damage anything else?

It's just as well you didn't see them.
Anyone who can put three rounds through the same hole is not anyone you want to mess with.

Hey Andre, you might want to take those nitrous bottles out at night . A foot over more, and you would have had no bed left!

you're taking this quite well man, I would be flipped out and sitting in my drive way at night with a .45 in my hand for weeks. I made sure I went outside to have a cig every now and then on the 31st just to make sure nothing happend without me knowing.

I never thought about all 3 in the same hole, will remove the tailgate tonight and see if I can find any of them Sal: no bottles in bed unless I am out hunting, or playing at the track on a test n tune night. Then I always remove them after arriving at home.
The bullet didn't go all the way through, only dented the inside of the tailgate. I suspect its a small caliber 22, 25, or 32 from some Saturday Night Special. If there is a bullet in there I will scan it for all to see.
AjRagno, it's not a sticker, its a real hole, made by a real bullet and the story is true. Its the same story I told the cops also.
BTW my wife was sitting in the dining room at the table when this happened, which faces the street with a big window.
Hey, it's another 1st for me! 1st Gen 2 Lightning thats been shot. Could start a whole new fad, bullet holes for free.......

Hey man, I would keep that bullet hole. Looks cool.

But if I were you I would spray a coat of clear coat to try to keep it from rusting.

Do you really need nitrous to catch a deer? This is weird stuff-hasn't happened to me yet...but it's definately better than getting keyed.
