VINNE, I have ? about your PS2

first you alpine head unit, is it a CVA 1003, or 1006, i just got the 1003, it's nice, but doesnt have the features that the 1006 has, and i put the 6 disc alpine cd changer in. i dont have pics yet, but i mounted it right in front middle on the floor, standing up against that black plastic piece, it looks good and bad mounted there, but i do have extremely easy access to change different cd's.

now my ps2 ? is, i was thinking down the line, after i get subs in there, to change the 6 disc to the alpine 6 disc that plays DVD's, but it cost like $1000, so i know you have the ps2 mounted between your subs, do you run that through the AUX and play it, and then also watch DVD's through the PS2 since it plays them....

if so how do you have your playstation plugged in for power, im thinking i want to do this for a quick fix, the only downside is that i would have to control the dvd by the playstation rather then by the headunit.

let me know man, thanks

I have the 1006. I did not like the graphics on the 1003 and my radio guy gave me a real good deal on it.At least the 1003 is XM ready where the 1006 is not(weird, but true).

As far as the PS2.Yes ,I play movies through it.It is actually very easy to use.I had also considered the 6 disc CD/DVD player but after having the PS2 I am quite satisfied.I really do not use it enough to get the 6 disc.It is more for show.

As far as the hookup- I had my radio guy run the wires from the H.U., through the Expy console, to the PS2.As far as power for the PS2 ,I use a power inverter that sits on the side of the drivers side seat.It fits perfect(you can not see it) and I also ran the wires through the console.I like the fact that I have the inverter all the time and I can plug in stuff in the truck.

Hope this helps.

VINNIE, could you do me a favor. You helped me with the install of the PS2 in my truck but I'm not happy with the way the PS2 is mounted now, could you take some close up pics of the brackets and the way the PS2 is held in place. It would be a huge help!

Thanks a lot

I have my running off the inverter as well. Like Vin said, makes for easy plug in of other things if necessary. My PS2 unit itself is mounted on the floor in the middle with double sided velcro. Yeah, its not fancy but its a clean look and its the 1st thing people notice when they look at the inside of my truck.

you have it mounted on the floor in the back.... or the front, thats where i have the 6 disc mounted......in the front....

what is a good power inverter to get, price wise and stuff, any links?

and i'll be getting the MTX Thunderform for the L also, but i want to mount the amp in the middle, would that be ok? or should i mount the amp somewhere else, and put the PS2 in the middle.

oh and another ?, is 150watts ok for the inverter? or do i need 300w? how do you have i mounted and where do you pug it in? and what kinda cable do i need to plug the PS2 into the Head Unit.....
