engine problems

i have a 2002 harley and i went to get my oil changed and when i picked it up the oil light and the temp light were on also was the check engine light. I drove it for about 5 min and the temp light and the oil light went off, but the check engine light stayed on. when i got home i turned it off and when i tried to turn it back on it would not start. i waited about an hour and went to turn it on, it did turn on, but for about 10 sec it seemed as if it was gonna turn off, also while this was happeneing black smoke was coming out of the exhaust. also when i drive it after it turns on it feels no where as near as it should feel. basically if i turn it off i can't start it till i wait about an hour. any ideas as to what this is? did they break a sensor? could it be a computer problem? spark plug?

my mods are:

8lb lower- 15psi
throttle bodie
diablo chip

i service my own trucks, so i don't really know what those "techs" do at those oil places. maybe ask them exactly what they checked, to see if you can find a loose sensor/vacuum line, etc. strange that it happened right after your visit. you could bring it to the dealer, and they could plug it in and quickley find the problem, but there's those mods, you got there.

they ran my truck through the computer and the following codes came up:
PO1289- cylinder head temp. low
PO232 Fuel pump secondary circuit high.

but they told me they checked and that all was fine and that the lights should not be on in the first place. could i have a bad fuel pump?

those places do check the air filters and on your trucks the maf is connected to the upper parts of the box, make sure that connection is good and the air temp sensor, also there are three hoses on the under side of the tube that goes to the throttle body, make sure these and the other side of these are connected..

Good luck
Jim
