New pulleys

im interested in getting new pulleys for my truck, which is an everyday driver. i already have a superchip, but i would like to knwo if it would be best to get a whole new chip programmed for the pulley swap. i dont want anything drastic, just a stock lightning upper and a 4# lower (i believe that is a 6# for you lucky lightning guys). any ideas on what pulleys to get and where to get them?

I would just get a 6lb lower and leave the top alone. It would be easier in case you need warrenty work.....

the 6# would be an 8# on a lightning right? how would that affect drivability?

Other way around.........

A 8# on a Harley is a 6# on an L.

8 vs 6 pound...

Jon-

Our upper pulley is larger than the Lightning upper pulley. this larger upper pulley reduces the amount of boost to the HD engine by about 2 pounds compared to the Lightning engine.

So... adding an 8 pound pulley to a HD engine, (with a the stock HD upper pulley) is only adding 6 pounds of boost to that HD engine.

If you want to add 4 pounds, your BEST bet is to add a 6 pound lower lightning pulley.

Reducing the upper pulley will add pounds also, but the smaller the pulley the higher probability of belt slippage.
