Unhappy Dyno numbers with a TWIST

I picked my truck up from the dyno today to recieve some pretty good dyno numbers. 408.7rwhp 508torque. I would post some pictures of the graphs but I dont know how. So on my merry way home the truck pops a denso out of the number 4 cylinder. This is by far the coolest thing thats ever happend. The noise of the exhaust popping scared the sh*t out of my passanger. So i pop the hood and see that the plug somehow broke the coil pack right off the bolt. So I stand there in the middle of knowhere freezing my a$$ off not knowing what to do now a cop tells me I have to move my truck from where it was parked ( in front of someones house) because it was distracting the people who live there. So 6 hours later lots of tools a headache and a very unplesent passanger I get the truck home. Now I know this is my fault cause I run the 8 pounder etc but enough is enough. Spent the day at a few dealers. Im ready to ditch the L

Wink

Doesn't sound like a fun day. Glad to see you got it back on the road.

Getting rid of it? Really? Wow...it would take a lot to make me ditch my L for something else...

01' Black L
-JL DiabloChip
-JL Ram Air Kit
-JL 3# Pulley
-Bassani Cat-back Exhaust
-Autometer Guages(Boost/Vac and Water Temp)
-Custom Stereo

Soon to come: Custom Intake to replace stock Rubber Boot
20" Antera Rims and tires
Lowering Kit & DVD In-Dash

First of all, I don't think that the 8lb'r caused this at all, as I've seen stock Expeditions spit spark plugs too.

MAYBE it was because you didn't properly torque your Densos, maybe not but regardless, this is obviously a crappy design.

On the good side Ford is supposedly putting an entirely new cylinder head on the 5.4 engine for '04.

The bad news is that this doesn't do jack squat for you.

either way, sorry to hear about this happening, did it pull the threads out of the head as well, pretty much always does, and if so are they going to warranty it?

later,
chris

just wondering if you changed out the plugs when the motor was warm or was it cold and not started in the last couple of hour????

if heard its bad to change plugs when the heads are warm or hot because the aluminum is pliable when warm so the threads can stretch and cause them to weaken.
