Thumbs up *** Ga/SC/NC guys - SCMC/MGW Drag Day ***

The SCMC/MGW Drag Day will be happening on November 9th at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. This has been a great event in the past and is shaping up to be even better this time. There will be plenty of Cobra's, GT's, plenty of LS1's and LT1's that need some more education on what a Lightning can do. Best of all, it looks like we will have some nice cool weather for the blowers.

The track is a VERY nice flat track that HOOKS and has plenty of slow down area! Also has plenty of paved staging areas, concessions, stands for watching etc. etc.. The owners have REALLY been putting some money into the track in the last year and it's really showing.

The previous events have been a blast with plenty of heads-up, grudge matches, and bracket racing. There will be 14 sec cars and 9 sec cars so there will be something for everyone.

More info can be found here:

http://www.svtcobraclub.com/mainpage.html (towards the bottom)

Best of all, if everything goes well, half of the proceeds will go to help a close buddy of mine who was in a horrible wreck a week ago to help offset some of the mounting medical bills. So come out, race, have a good time, and do a little something to help someone out.

Wow, that is a long ways away from me. Looks like almost 400miles. I would still be interested if there are some other folks from N.C. going and I still have the L at that time. What about you N.C./ Va. guys.

CC: Did they increase the shut-down area? Sounds like it......???

Guys, this is a very good track, tractionwise. They prepped it very well back in Feb(?) when CC, DL, and others were there.

Dan,

You should see the track now since the last time you were there. They moved the stands back away from the line, did some more paving, landscaping. Actually "looks" better than it did back then.

I'll be there with my L ,. Dan, you are coming right????

Rusty said him and his brother (Who owns a 03 Cobra) are going to try and make it. Metco will be there with the HD, Larry Gilstrap is coming in his 99 white NOS L. Larry laid down some smack at Jackson last year on the Cobra boys.

Hey CC, what time does the track open that day for us?

Mailing my check and entry form today. Guys, if you're going, you can save $10 by getting a postmark by Nov. 1, 2002.

I can't wait to get to meet CC's girlfriend again--proof that Lightning guys(well some of the guys ) get the prettiest women!

David, I will see(and 'hear'--LOL!) you there, you Georgia coonass.

DL,

I'm finding out the details as you read this.

Typically they start at 12:00 and you can stay until 11:00 when the night time T'nT' ends. If you can't get enough runs in 11 hours... well

Tony will be there at 10:30 to open the gates. Everything should start around 11:00. If you pay, you can race, even if you drive a LEXUS!
