mods and motor problem
mods and motor problem
Last night me and a friend finally got around to putting the rest my mods on, 5lb pulley, chip, intake. we started it up and everythiing ran perfect. Went for a test drive and got on it some and all seemed fine then too. Coming home I decided to get on it one last time, it's amazing what that extra 5lb and a chip do! Well the last time I got on it, the truck downshifted and started to accelerate hard then all of a sudden I got a real bad 'hesitation' and the check engine light came on. So I let off it and drove it back home safely with no problems at all. I took it out again later and it did it again, but since then things have been fine. I disconnected the battery and cleared the check engine light. Anyone know what this could be from? I havent installed my boost bypass yet, was planning on doing it tonight, could that be the problem? Also I am running TR6 plugs for now, I plan on going to the br7's hopefully next weekend, but that wouldn't have been the problem would it?
Thanks
Thanks
How many miles on your fuel filter? This sounds like fuel starvation to me???
I don't think the TR6s would have caused that behavior but get the BR7s(I got'em too) in before too many more WOT runs.

The fuel filter was replaced just a few weeks ago, and I didnt have this problem before the mods. I will go and double check the chip connections. I did notice today that the check engine light came back on for no apparent reason while i was driving normally, I didnt notice anything wrong though.
You said " you installed a 5 lb pulley, chip, and intake."
1. How old/new is the chip? Did the truck shut off or just hesitate and continue running? You may have a connector(too wide) problem with the chip not a "contact/clean" situation. Mine shut off while at the track twice and it turned out to be a "contact"(I think the contacts weren't gripping the PCM contacts securely enough) situation.
2. Was the "intake" just REM's pipe or was it also a new filter? If a new filter, then maybe some filter oil got on the MAF sensor???
3. Check everything real carefully about the intake installation--vacuum tube, etc.
