Congratts BOSTONL 12.9 no chip
Actually, he has done several dyno runs, paying close attention to his A/F. He joked about how little power it was making compared to others. I believe he was running ubsurdly rich with this set up and was even tossing around ideas to knock down the ratio with out the chip. I'm pretty confident he is aware of what his truck is doing, and IS playing it safe.
Well that's awesome. I'm glad he checked the a/f. I've just seen too many people break rods/pistons because they assumed that their tune was safe because someone else with their combo was safe.
The truck must have been extremely rich with the stock pulley then.

Ever since I ran a 13.07 last year (very last run of the season, with only a TB, mod. valve, and K&N panel) I've been obsessed with getting into the 12s all year and had all but given up hope.
A couple of critical things happened for me to make it. First of all, all you guys (NELO members, Lightning hotdogs, tuners) have always been very encouraging and supportive. A couple of DELVALO guys ( sorry guys, forgot names, senior moment) gave up the secrets of launching the L with F-1s. Ever since they spilled the beans at E-Town last week, my 60's have been consistently in the 1.8s. Combined with: 3lb pulley, K&N panel, TB, mod. valve, TR5s, 160* thermostat, loosing the hitch/spare/tailgate/front sway bar, plus 50* sunny day on a very sticky track, resulted in: 12.946 @ 104.78 with a 1.846 60'
I spoke to tuners alot, not just about the usual stuff, but trying to understand what gets a Lightning down the strip quickly. I initially avoided a chip to protect a 100K extended warranty, then it just became a challenge to get into the 12s without it. Its been posted on all the usual sites about A/F ratios with pulleys (sorry I don't remember the sources but thanks for that good information) and did some datalogging dyno runs for A/f info (best figures: 342 HP and 425 ft/lbs TQ).
Its been kinda fun being on this search for 12s, I know more than a couple of Lightning guys have gotten a hoot out of my mission!

That is SWEET!!!
I always wanted to do it in close to stock form. I always saw Stock L's hitting 13.2's but then when i went to the track all i could manage was 13.6 Stock and just gave up(Florida Temps.)....wish i would of kept trying....eventually i believe with adding mods little by little i would of gotten better times than i have now(I just went all out...REM Chip,6lb pulley,Filter,Deep pan)
Now best i've managed is a 12.9@107...which is pretty good considering i have stock F1's and no traction bars, and live in S.Fla.
It gets kind of dicouraging when you fellow members with the same mods i have hit mid 12's....But i'l get their
Now if you could let us in your secret
KILLER RUN ONCE AGAIN

X amout of air in: Y amount of fuel injected regardless of boost
I was skeptical at first but tried this and it works. BTW, thanks to DELVALO guys for this one.
22 lbs pressure cold (I had trouble going that low, 24 lbs has worked for me, but they insist 22 is best).
Good long burnout to really heat them, spin them right up to the staging beams.
Leave from an idle but nail it when you go, no feathering.
I've made about 10 runs using this technique, slowest 60' was a 1.92, quickest 1.84.
If the F-1s are really sticking during burnout (I can tell when it hits second, if the rpms start to drop down) I leave at 1200-1500 rpm.
Good Luck!
