What Tools Needed To Remove A-Pillars?

Ok, i dont seem to have the deep well sockets in my arsenal to remove these things. So, before i head off to sears, what size is the socket to remove those damn handles? im assuming i need to remove the handles before being able to remove the pillar?

Ugh, they pop right off after you remove the handle. 7mm or 9/32. no deep sockets needed.

You don't need deep sockets to remove the handle.. Just pop out the plugs and the bolt is right there. It's a 7mm and the pillar just pops off....JR

I guess Ford changed it in 2002 then. From this thread I just tried to remove my A pillar and it took an 8mm deep well socket to remove the a pillar handle on my 2002. I had headed to my truck with a normal 7mm socket and it didnt even come close to the nuts, and when I got the deep well it was too small.

Welp, i needed to goto Sears anyhow for the 7mm swivel for the coil packs. The nuts on my 2002 ended up eing 5/16ths to remove. I took both sides off and ran my Delta chip switch and LED into the top console like i had intended to 3 months ago. I had to extend the wires about 10 inches for the switch/led.

My trucks still apart. I have the illumination wire ran, grounds ran. Just need to tap into the +12V ignition and drop a cable for the trans sender. Looks like i will have to split the loom for the Fuel Pressure gauge and resolder those so i dont end of making some big *** hole. Senders are both installed on the fuel rail and tranny. So much for a 1 day project.

The pod fits like crap of course. I drilled my holes and test fitted it. If i could do it over again, i would have went for the autometer pod over the LoTek.
