Smile Another question about Zaino

You guys will laugh at htis. But I haven't waxed my 01 since I purchased it. I am such a perfectionist, that i want it to be perfect, but that has also kept me form waxing!!

I had a question. If you purchase the Zaino clay bar, after you clay the car, do you still have to apply the Z1, or it only has to be applied if you don't clay it?

Z1 has nothing to do with the clay bar.... It's just a base for Z2 or Z5(polish lock). I would skip the z1 and use ZFX instead, it will give you the ability to do several coats (if you want) because it cuts the drying time wayyyyyy down...

yup, what he said

z1 doesn't have antying to do with claybar. you should still claybar though if you havent' in a long while

you only need z1 if you aren't going to get the zfx. the zfx speeds up the drying time though by a huge amount, so you can put a max of 3 coats on in a day. (you'd still have time for more, but should only put on 3 coats) i think its worth the extra money. you'll be shocked when you see how small the bottle is but it'll last for like 12-16 oz

I agree too, ZFX is well worth it. I have used the Meguire's claybar and had fine results with that. If your paint is really smooth now, you probably won't have to clay it also.

Isn't the Z1 the paint cleaner, before z2 is applied? So if I clay the car I can go ahead with the Z2 and not use Z1?

Like MAC[H]Z stated, Z1 is the Polish LoK (Zaino Spelling). You are supposed to use it the first time you use zaino. If you are using zaino frequently, you don't need to use Z1 everytime. If it is a daily driver, use Z1 twice a year, for a low mileage weekend cruiser, once a year.

brasil, z1 has nothing at all to do with the claybar. doesn't matter if you use it or not, as whether you need z1 or not.
if you havent' clayed in a while, you should clay, simple as that
if you want to spend the extra money for zfx, you dont need z1
if you don't wanna spend the money for zfx, you need the z1 because its a polish lock, and sets up the surface for the polish, whereas the zaino does it while you are polishing because its mixed in. also speeds up drying time
