Actually i did have the 12568, and the pipes also had to be reconstructed the same way the 12468 has to be in order to be installed. I have the silver bullet now and love the sound

Lite01,
I did the mod on my airbox and I have to say it was the easiest by far. Except the bumper hole plug. Anyway, I think I have a really easy way of doing this if anyone else is thinking of cutting the airbox. I took off the top cover of the box and removed the bottom from the engine compartment. I then took a wood hole drill bit (2") and I made six very clean holes. I then took a drywall knife and shaved off a little to make them really clean. I put four holes in the area of the airbox that is not sitting over the fender and two over the fender. It looks great and only took about 10 minutes! The s/c is more noticable however, it has been raining here and I cannot test the increase in low-end torque with out spinning the tires.

Just a thought, what would be the harm of getting some wire mesh to screw into the bottom of the box with some washers to keep the big stuff out? Just an idea, any opinions?

Thanks for all your help!

01Lightning,

I tested her out last night and I'm convinced that this mod has helped me recover some tourqe and lost hp after the exhaust mod. Thank you for all your help.

P.S.
I can't thank you enough for the recommendation on this muffler. It suites my taste perfectly. Not too loud at idle and sounds ********** awsome at WOT. I LOVE IT! The guys at the muffler shop were really impressed with the sound.

I don't know about you guys but I would just add more power to the truck that way you will have to open her up even more.

chip, filter kit, and a 6lb lower pulley will solve your problems.

I love the sound too... when I first cranked her up after the install, I was a little skeptical because it didn't sound much louder. Then as soon I was able to give it a WOT blast, I quickly changed my mind! It sounds like a wild animal!

Glad things turned out well for you!

RTKILLA: I agree. I plan on getting a chip in the near future, and maybe a 4 pounder. But for now I am happy with what I have!

I know exactly what you're talking about man with the Magnaflo..Same exact story you're telling is what happened to me when I installed the 12468..Sounded good but performed like crap. I took it off and put the stock back on.. My 12468 is sitting in my back yard right now..Anyone want to purchase it?
