MAG-HYTEC added to rear>>

I was putting in my hitch a few days ago and noticed the rear differential cover was pealing. I do a lot of towing with my L and drive on the road courses occasionally, so thought it may have been heat related. Switched to a Mag-Hytec cover www.mag-hytec.com which is one nice quality piece. It has a lower drain, and topside dipstick. I had to slightly move the rear sway bar to install, but there is about 1/2" of clearance with everything tightened up. It takes 5 quarts to fill it up to the proper level.

Yep, I've had mine for about a year now... I think it is a nice piece of work. Always get complements from fellow L owners who are following behind me.

BTW, my cover did the same thing... figured it was the 4.10's getting hot in there. Pulled it off, sanded it down, and painted it with high temp black paint. Gave it to a guy in the club.

I have had two late model, Fords 99 F-250LD and 99 Lightning, and both of them have peeled. Every other truck I have looked at have been peeled, too. I'd say it is 'cause of some poor paint prep.
