Question should I remove cats?

I'm considering removing the cats of my bassani, but I want to know from someone's experience what are the pros and cons of doing this. Is there have to be any welding involved?

i cant think of any pros

but the cons on the other hand, many. this is assuming your truck is 98-02. you might not pass emissions. you are not going to have the proper backpressure. the pcm is gonna throw a code that the converters are not working so your check engine light will flash all the time. and thats just a start. remember these new vehicles are not like an old small block in chevelle they spend lots of money to design them the way they do and thats why they run better and longer. but thats just my $.02

Didnt know they made a 98 L.Anyways I wouldnt remove the cats, you will have too much loss of back pressure.Maybe some high-flow cats would be nice... just my 0.2

i have 2 highflows, they are muy bueno, but if you do decide to remove them make sure you get o2 simulators to trick the pcm into thinking that the cats are still there...thats what i had to do in order to put my cutouts on
