Just wanted to know if anyone has a subenclosure in their Lightning, and how did it sound? I'm looking at buying the MTX- fits nice and looks good. But does it sound good?

 

From what ive heard the enclosure itself is great. I have been told to buy it empty, and get quality sub's and a good amp, and your set...

I have it with the MTX subs and my own amp, sounds great in my opinion.

 

ok, i found where you can get it empty. but i thought the MTXthunder6000's were good speakers, from what it says on the rating's there good, 500w max and 250rms...... thats good, my GF's got the MTX4000's 12's 400w max and 200rms, and they sound pretty good.....

what speaker do you suggest, i was either gonna go with alpine, polk, or infinety....

 

cobra97, did you find the empty box for less than $229? That's what Circuit City will sell them for. I'm looking at the same thing and can't find cheaper than that.

 

yep goto www.yahoo.com and search MTX, you will find a site that will sell it for $199

 

dude go to your local stereo shop and get a quote on an empty one it should be around $179 and then go to circut city and they have a 110% price garantee so now your going to save $17.90 bucks and now thats good price for that box thats what i did

 

ahhhh, very nice idea......... the only thing is im greedy and when i want something, i want it right then, so i asked circuit city guys about it, and they have to order the mtx thing, so i would have to wait till it's shipped, so i would buy from somewhere that has fast shipping.

 

 

Do not.I repeat.Do not get the MTX subs.Get the MTX unloaded and put in JLs or something equivelent.There subs $UCK.
