Foil Noise

I just installed a 6lb lower, BR7s gapped at .38, and a chip. There is a noise coming from the engine under load. It sounds like foil crumpling or something... I remember reading about this and searched but didnt find anything. What wrong? Is it detonation?

Sounds like detonation to me. It's this crappy gas we get out here and the colder weather that just started a few days ago. Go get a few gallons of Toluene and see if that helps it.

My first race for last night I was also getting detonation @ WOT. I have a 6lb and TR-6's. The temp was around 71. I had 1/4 tank of 93 octang. After the first run, I put in 5 gallons of 100 octang. My next 3 runs had no detonation at all. I plan on replacing my Diablo single program chip for the Diablo Delta chip and have a cold program and a hot program on it. I will have the cold program with less timming advance then the hot program. I don't want to have to rely on high octane fuel.
