Detonation Issue

It was about 71 deg. My first run I was getting detonation on WOT. After that first run I added 5 gals. of 100 octane Racing fuel to about a 1/4 tank of 93 octane. My next 3 runs had no detonation. DUring the hot months of summer here in FL I had no detonation. Is this normal? Should I have my single chip reprogrammed with less advanced timing? SHould I go with a flip chip instead? Do many of you add 100 octane Racing when you race? I know, lots of questions.

I have 6lb lower pulley, TR-6 plugs, Diablosport chip.

In hot weather your PCM pulls out timing

In cool weather is doesnt cause the IAT is lower

You might want a flip chip with hot weather side and cool weather side..

On a side note my bet is we will see dome more sparkplug and engine damage this winter from folks running aggressive summer tunes and big pullies..

Cool

When I run my warm weather program in temps below mid 60's then I add $5 of 104 unleaded at the track. I usually run a 1/4 tank or a little below so it should kick it up to about 95 octane for added insurance. I didn't have any problems last spring doing this.
