The picture really doesn't do justice, but I thought I would show it anyways. I ran a long bolt through one end of both shackles so I could get an accurate measurement. I then measured the center of the stock shackle to the last hole of the Belltech shackle and came up with 2 7/8". Now surely Belltech didn't screw up on the shackles. Have any of you guys that have Belltech shackles measure them before you install them? I installed mine, but it will be a couple weeks before I take my truck off of the jack stands. I am trying to do more then one thing at a time.

BTW, if it does drop my truck 2 7/8" I am not complaining. I need to know what you guys think. I was going to install a 1" drop coil, but if the shackles do drop the rear that much, I will be loking for a 1 1/2" coil.

I dont think it will be a 1 to 1 ratio on the drop you will get. I would look for a 1.5-2.0 in drop from 2in Shackels....

Your shackles are different from mine. Look at the color and yours look shorter. Might be my imagination though.

You have 2 different holes to adjust the height and I have 3

Yes that is true JD

If you look at the picture, I "also have" 2 holes more after the end of the stock shackle. Your may be a "little" longer.
Here's what they look like on

And before everyone say's they're backwards, YES I KNOW.
""BUT"" thats how the stock ones were on, so thats how the DJM Shackles went back. I'M NOT ALONE

It's called geometry. If you take a yard stick and lie it flat on a table, then lift one end upwards by 2-7/8" you will find that the middle point of the yard stick has only gone up by 1-7/16". This sort of approximates what is happening to your axle, though I don't believe it is exactly in the middle of the leaf spring.

Next lesson.... CLASS!!!!!

trust me J.D you won't get that much of a drop, mine are the exact same as yours i got the belltechs and they are way longer. when you put them in and then drop the truck right away you will only measure like an 1' or inch and a half drop, untill you drive it for a week or two then you will see the 2' drop.

and Rob, you are really hung up on this backwards shackle thing, calm down i know that's how the stock ones were, i saw your post and checked mine, and your right, but the people that bought the Belltech kit (which is a big % of us) the directions told us to put them in the other way. and in my opinon i dont think it matters as long as you get a drop from it...... there is no difference.

Justin,
The yardstick guy has it correct. Raise the mounting point by 3 inches, the axle moves about 1.75". Doing Crawford's shackles tonight.

J.D. Blackwell;

I lowered my " L " using Belltech parts like 2" coils front and
perches and shackles in the rear. But rear was to low and most
bumps hit their small bump stops hard! So removed rear shackles
an put OEM ones back on and that was what looked best to me ?
Truck seems level and launches well at stip!
