Polishing the lip on a black rim????
Polishing the lip on a black rim????
I know I saw a guy with black rims on here that polished the very little edge of it and it was silver polished then.
I kinda figured you would have to sand the paint off, then use a lower grit sandpaper from 280 to 4000 or so and then just use buffing compound on them? is there anything I'm missing.
I want to do my bike wheels like that!

There are quite a number of guides out there on the net. It isn't as hard as it sounds, just a little bit of time and elbow grease. Since all of your bike is already painted, you just have to stripe off the paint already on there. The smoother the parts is to begin with, the easier it is to make it shine. If it is rough, plan on it taking a while.
Once you do it, it is contageous. You will probably want to do the same to anything you can on your truck as well.

I got them from TXSVTLIGHTNING so it might be better to ask him but if I remember correctly he said he started out with like 100 grit on a palm sander and slowly moved up to 800 or so and then did the rest of the polishing with chemicals. Sorry if I wasnt any help but I just talked to him briefly about it cause I was thinkin of doin it to my Cobra 'R's as well
GOOD LUCK!
