My L 'stumbled' and threw a trans. light
Coming home yesterday, popped o/d 'off' to slow down for a rt. hand 'yeild' turn and as I was coming out of the turn at about 20 mph, the truck 'stumbled' or shut off for a second and then back to normal. Then the trans. o/d light started to blink on and off. Everything 'felt' OK??? I drove on home and when I got there, I disconnected the battery, turned the h/l sw. to 'on', and waited for several minutes. When I started it up after reconnecting the battery, no blinking light.
I drove it today for about 80 miles with no blinking light. I checked the trans. fluid level and it was at the mid-way mark--hot. I added a few onces of fluid just to bring it closer to max-full. I haven't drag raced it for 6 months......maybe it misses those burnouts? Oh, yea, I just turned over 36,000 miles
.
Am I looking at a real trans. problem or just a fluke?

Thanks everybody, especially FT! I'm just use to down-shifting my Camaro Z281LE(gone for a few years but never forgotten) and yes, I know it was a M5 not an auto.

Dan, when was the last time you pulled the chip an cleaned the contacts. They will build up carbon and corrosion over time.
I pull mine about every 5000 miles and clean them.
