Win Some Lose Some

I went street racing last night in and around town. I had a few good match ups including a typhooon that i had never seen around here before.

I raced 3 or 4 ricers the typhoon, and a 2000 trans am. <----- (The only car that beat me all night). My truck is still stock so i didn't feel to bad since his TA was moded and only beat me by a car length.

I did what some of guy said though in earlier post when i was racing from a roll. I droped down into second and was gone !!!!

I am going to go out again tonight and take a video camera if it doesn't rain

I have yet to race anyone, and it's probably best seeing as I'm ignorant as hell. But how does one shift down to second in an automatic? And since I don't know that, there's probably more I need to know. So, how exactly should I go about getting my first kill? (With the truck)

Theres the #2 next to the drive gear. #2 means 2nd gear.

It's automatic. Just keep it in drive and punch the gas. Nothing fancy. It will instantly respond. If it doesn't, take it too the shop.

These trucks don't have manual shift valve bodies in them, manually shifting them can potentially cause harm, and doesn't make you any faster at all, probably slow you down though.

Just a heads up, if in doubt go to a track and ask a fellow L owner how he does it.

As its been said, manually shifting will only hurt the tranny. If its going at a slow enough speed, and you WOT the pedal... it'll drop into 1st gear. If you are too fast for 1st gear and you WOT the pedal, it'll drop into 2nd automatically. KEY WORD... "automatically"... hence, the automatic transmission.
So next time your better off just letting your tranny do its work... have fun but be safe man!
