Clear-coat Power Coating?
Clear-coat Power Coating?
I am almost done with polishing a PSP Airbox and wanted to see what you guys think it would look like if I had the three polished sides covered with clear-coat power coating and the inside and bottom done with gloss black power coating.
Initial Buff
After alot of Buffing
Also has anyone seen a Supercharger that was polished then shot with Clear-coat Powdercoating? I have been told there is only a slight orange peel look to it. Thanks

I could also leave the 3 sides of the airbox polished and just do the inside and bottom gloss black. I do have some clear-coat from Eastwood that is used to cover valve covers (good to 350°) and says non-yellowing. I'm thinking about giving that a shot also.
Steve

Steve,
It's gonna look great when it's done.
I also have Eastwood's powdercoating system and was talking to their tech guy last weekend about clearcoats. If you apply the clearcoat over their chrome argent, it gives a dull finish. They are not sure why, but are working on it. I am not sure what kind of results you'll get over straight polished metal though.
You can call them with any questions. I find them very helpful.
