Mod questions

As you can see by my sig, most of my mods are for show. Pretty much finished with that so, I'm looking at the other things now. I've seen posts about some things I'd like to know more about please. They are:

4x4 pan Why?
Boost bypass What and why?
water pump Why?
electric fan Why? I assume this is to cool things down under the hood, but why should we need to upgrade?
breather cap? What and why?
d/s loop What and why?
line mod valve What and why?

Thanks.

Trans pan= more capacity and cooler temps
Boost by pass=eliminates boost dump at high rpm (power loss)
water pump= cobra w/p moves more fluid cooler temps
E-fan=no rotating mass (hp gains) better cooling
Breather cap=waste of money in my opinion
d/s loop= safety measure in case of d/s or u-joint failure. Keeps the d/s from digging into the pavement and flipping the truck over.
Line Mod= shift kit. Extend the life of your trans. Quicker shifts.

I'll try and answer a few of these.

4x4 pan - More fluid capacity keeps your transmission cooler. Also has a drain plug.

Boost bypass - Some say you need the kit, others just unplug the solenoid. Keeps the supercharger from dumping your boost after say a burnout at the track.

Water pump - The Cobra R waterpump is supposed to be lighter than the stock Lightning one. It also is more efficient.

Electric fan - The stock clutch type fan is heavy and robs horsepower to spin it. With the electric fan you can also run a switch to cool the truck down in the staging lanes at the track.

Breather cap - I won't even get into this one. Lot of debate. Some think it keeps oil from getting in the intake by relieving crank case pressure. Others think it introduces unmetered air to lean the truck out.

Driveshaft loop - Most tracks will require one if you're in the 12's. If your driveshaft breaks on a run, just imagine it digging into the ground an pogoing you all over the place. Cheap insurance.

Line mod valve - Better faster shifts. Some say avoid that and buy the Factory Tech valve body.

If I missed anything please feel free to correct me.
Thanks, Jeff
