You Guys All SUCK!!
You Guys All SUCK!!
Hehe, just ranting
I got beat badly yesterday in my 01 Boxster S against a newer ligthning on a 5mph roll. Totally out of my car's environment but fun anyways. I nailed it as the lightning guy did and he pulled away hard ~4 car lengths to about 70mph when I slowly was gaining on him. I couldn't believe how hard he pulled me at the start. I guess that's what those 450 Torque does for you huh?
Needless to say I was quite impressed and now I have the privilage of saying that the only car that has beaten me so far is a truck!
Anyways, sweet rides guys!@@!
Hope to learn more about these things.

And just to think, you got beat by a stock truck.......hehe
Can you imagine what would have happened to you with a truck that the owner said, "Fu*k the warranty?"not that I would, mind you But I have been told, that these trucks get crazy fast with a few mods

Wow... their are actually kind people in the world? No for real... im glad you recognize and respect our trucks. Personally, I think the Boxter S is one hellofa a car, but it's just not a 1/4 mile car. Like others said, from a 60mph roll im sure the outcome would be totally different.

Hehe, you are right, alot of porsche drivers are **** ****** which I find funny. I mean, it's still just a car. Check out my post about this on the Boxster board (un = Jonny). Some people get very uptight about these things.

I love my boxster S as it drives/turns like a go cart and sounds fantastic with the flat 6 boxer motor pumping out tunes right behind the ear. But with 250 HP, it's straight line performance is decent but not outstanding. Typical 1/4 mile runs are right at 14 flat at 102-103 MPH. Feels great tho once you gain momentum of higher speeds. My ONLY complaint is relative lack of power. I am considering putting in a 3.6L motor from a wrecked 996 which is quite easily done. This would give me over 320 HP easily without losing the balance of the car.
My previous car was a 95 Mustang Cobra so I still have a fondness for Ford SVT vehicles. The lightning concept is totally unique and Ford deserves alot of credit for having the ***** to build such a vehicle.
Now I am seriously thinking about trading in my bimmer for a lightning. I think a test drive is in order =)

Too bad a couple of us didn't have a chance to play with you at Laguna Seca! You may have been surprised.
Here's an OLD thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=26182
I know there's a difference between the Boxster and the Boxster S. But, I ran with (and ahead of) a couple 996T's, but it was inexperienced drivers, not the car. A better driver would have made it silly to compare. Still, I had a good laugh with one of the 996t owners when he told me he'd pay me to stop passing him.
The funny part was that he had some engine work and dynoed 640hp. Out of turn 11, I was gone by the time his turbils spooled up. His son (and a few others) thought it was cool. All in all, I had a fun weekend with the Porsche Club - great group and many of them are incredible drivers.
