Need help installing Lightning frt bumper cover

I crashed my 1997 XL and want to update front end. I picked up an OEM 2001 grill and an OEM 2002 Lightning bumper cover so far. On the bumper reinforcement, the dealer parts people show a Lightning only part #. I'm thinking any 1999 and up bumper will work and the only difference is some mounting holes here and there. Has anybody done this swap?

Detroit L: What kinda aftermarket fog lights are you running. They look great. Do you need any type of mounting brackets to mount them.

the ones in the pics are a cheap set from autozone, they got nicked pretty quick so i went to some piaa's, they can be mounted without any brackets but they bounce when on, and going down the road.

this is the bracket i made to correct the bouncing.

and these are the new ones

L in Detroit: I love the way your truck looks. I am gonna have to order some piaa lights. Thanks for all the information. By the way how hard is it to make them brackets. My dad owns a machine shop so i probably want have much trouble getting them made.

real easy, just a couple pieces of stainless bars from ace, i doubled them up, mounted to a couple mounting locations already there and worked fine.
ill try to get some better pics tomorrow if ya like, or look under there, what your looking to do is support the back of the fog light and cup to another part of the truck to keep it from bouncing..

L in Detroit:Wow that was a quick reply. Thanks for everything. I got a good idea now of how to support the lights. I have been trying to get that question answered for two weeks. Thanks for everything.
