What's wrong with my truck?

It feels really sluggish - having a hard time getting it up into boost, feels like I've got four flats. The chip isn't loose, and I've got a new fuel filter (1000 miles).

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I hate this truck sometimes!!

Pull the chip and try running it again. What about your plugs? How old are they? Is it missing? Blower belt on? Is the blower turning with the motor running?

could be the fuel pumps. I think 99 and 00s had a problem with the rubber line coming off. Not sure but maybe something to check.

Might be time for some new coil packs, have you replaced them yet??

No, never. I've got 21K on the clock, is that a regular maintenance item?

It's not running all that bad, not sputtering or idling bad. It just seems like it's low on power. Even my carpool bud noticed it.

Vinnie had 2 bad coil packs. I read somewhere they should be changed at 15k miles (??? I think).

Check plugs and change fuel filter first. Start with the basics and work up.

I'd be sure that the air filter is clean and free-flowing. Also find out if your cats/muffler are flowing freely.

My bets on the fuel lines pulling off at the "Y" ...
You can't even back up the driveway when they
come completely off....

Got Boost?

I WAS thinking like Don... but... a bad coil pack would make the truck run BAD. I've had to replace two on separate occasions, at 65K miles...

hmmm... Sounds like you aren't getting any boost... maybe the boost dump is engaged?

Check your boost gauge and see if it moves at all when you accelerate...

Doing a high RPM rev might set the computer to dump the boost... Did yoou do any revs in neutral or any radical burnouts?

hmmm....

Let us know...

I pulled the battery cable to reset the PCM, and pulled the air filter off. Man, that thing was disgusting! I'm thinking this must've been at least part of the problem - I don't see how any air at all was getting through it.

I'll give it a road test tonight on my way to/from class...

Geez, I think that was it. Seemed to run good to/from class.

Sorry to waste everybody's time.
