Question Help On Truck Problem!

When I am doing about 35-40 mph the truck starts shuttering. I thought it might be the tranny but its new. I just put a #4 JDM pulley and his chip in which he made it more aggressive for me. I'm going to change the fuel filter tommorrow. But I can't fiqure it out. Its only at easy throttle about 1/4 peddle during take off. It don't do it when I'm a little harder on the throttle during take off. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks Tim

Fuel filter would be a great place to start. If that doesn't work try pulling the chip and see if it still does it.

I thought about that, but how bad is it to drive a #4 without a chip?

You will be fine. I know several running 4lb and no chips full time. I have done it while waiting for reburns. I wouldn't hit the track that way but for testing and daily driving you will be fine.

did u wash the motor lately, or get it wet?
my truck did that after a washin, it would idle funny and at takeoff or light accel it would buck, i thought i dried everything off and it still did it the next day, so made an app. with the dealer for a look at, the day of the app. no problem, a couple washings later same thing, so took an air compressor to the maf connector and fixed it up, i blow dry most of the important connectors now and around the plug boots and haven't had a problem all summer..

Well took the chip out and it still does it. Its between 40-45 mph on the bottom of 3rd gear like hitting 3 bumbs. I cant tell if thats a miss or its my tranny. Well I will start with the fuel filter tommorrow, should have changed that thing a long time ago, it has 20000 miles on it now. I'm leaving for Virginia this week and I need her to make it 1100 miles. Mod freindly dealers in Virginia?

If it soulnds like "breaking up" it's prolly a burned plug ...
Runs good til you boost it and that blows the spark out.

Question Fuel Filter

My truck also started to miss a little, it started about two weeks ago, some days it would be real bad and other days not so bad, so today I took it to the dealer and had the fuel filter changed. guess what, no more miss and seems to have picked up a little power, so its probably your fuel filter.

For those wondering why I let the dealer change the fuel filter, its because I work six days a week and I just don`t have the time, its just easier to let them do it while im at work and pick it up when its done.

Larry.

Densos, about 15000 miles. Don't make me change the plugs yet! I hope its not the converter either, damn I don't won't to pull that tranny agian! It does feel like the tranny so I don't know how often the converter goes out but that sounds like a start. J.D. I will just drive it to New Jersey if you will front me the 10 grand I need , I be about 500 miles away!

MR. Tim Cowley

How do you like that monster box?

I've been through 3 stock 4r100 and 1/2 of a level 10 blue plate special, and I only have 23,000 miles on my L.

Please respond, if I remember correctly it was like $2000 to $2500 for one of those bad boys.

I love it being the fact that I don't have any worries about hurting it. Its peace of mind. Gregg being the best on trannies and his expertise. If you look at his board he's always giving tech advice , no matter how dumb my questions are. I would buy another one! Well worth it.
