Great location for your Chip Switch

Didn't want to drill through the dash, didn't want it inside the Glove box, didn't wan't it dangling in mid air.

This hole is sitting there empty and the switch seems to be made for it. A little father away than I would have liked, but I can reach over and switch it while driven and never will anyway, so it's perfect.

Just incase no one saw it and needs a location to mount a chip switch

Thats exactly where I mounted my switch... One thing is that everytime I have a passenger in the car, they always manage to hit it and switch it to the 'stock' setting. With my 6lber and stuff, thats a big nononono! Im thinking I may put it on the steering column... just drill a little hole and mount it up.

Rather than drilling holes, you could just change the switch to a push button type or maybe the passenger wouldn't hit hit if the movement was side-to-side?

What are your passengers doing in the truck that gets them that riled up ?

If that is the same spot as the one I use it is protected from below by a plastic tray. In order to hit it they would have to use thier fingers and intentionally switch it. Or maybe if they had bare feet and were clawing at the dash as if to climb in to the drivers seat for some reason that might get thier toes in there... LOL

Here is a shot I took of it a few years ago. In the 2000's there is a black plastic try that is right below it

Hey Schitt me too,
I didn't see that one either, mines in the closest hole to the Pass Door, right in front of the Computer. I'm gonna go move mine right now, Thanks Doug.

And whats with the passenger hitting that switch Mike ???
Lots of movement going on there I guess Hu. Don't you know the best thing about a Lightning. "IT HAS A BUILT IN BED"
I once did it in the front seat of a 69 Nova with bucket seats, BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY

I had mine there, but after being at the drag strip to change it, I couldn't flip it. So I moved it to the glove box by adding more wire and a new switch.

I put mine in the cup holder on the dash. I drilled a small whole under the ash tray so its totally stealth. It is completley hidden and want be bumped by accident.no wire was added to my superchip setup.

LatemodelRacer2 - nice spot.

Mine is in where the lighter and power outlet is. I'll take a picture tomorrow of it.

another option..

obtw, the nut on a Diablo Delta and Superchip is the same size as the battery terminal bolt. Deep socket and a 1/4" drive in the console at all times, just in case, or something.
